The People

Our nimble team of all-in strategic artisans is our biggest asset. They’re eclectic, varied, and come from a range of backgrounds. From starting award-winning boutique design shops, to launching products for global brands at world-renowned advertising agencies, to risking it all racing as a professional action sports athlete, to reinterpreting the conventions of the ivory tower. Our culture embraces challenges; we’re constantly growing to address the unique needs of each one.

Drew Pautler believes brands can engage with people in astounding ways, and decided to do something about it. He left an award-winning career at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, one of the world’s most effective and awarded advertising agencies, to pursue a mission dedicated to bringing the good out in brands.

Under his leadership, the Pacific Northwestern team has grown alongside the agency’s partners in action sports, electronics, public affairs, adventure tourism and film. Drew is the founder and guiding creative force behind GFC’s distinctive approach to connecting brands with people in meaningful ways.

Darryl Spreen is a gifted creative who easily brings ideas and inspiration to life with visually compelling design across a number of mediums. From illustration and typography to motion graphics, he is an experienced visual storyteller, creating work for brands in fashion, big pharma, music and film.

His career has brought him to a host of boutique agencies, with experience that has helped shape the development of GFC’s working culture, while his creative signature continues to influence the work. Outside the office, you will find Darryl where he is most comfortable: snagging a left at Sombrio Beach.

Jamie Gurnell is a creative with a chip on the right shoulder. He believes good enough sucks. He thrives on the uncertainty of the unknown. He’s steadfast in believing “the way it is” can always improve. With a wealth of world class advertising experience at Sid Lee, BBH London and Crispin Porter + Bogusky Jamie is on a mission to be a part of creative that actually makes a difference.

Like the aforementioned chip on his shoulder, Jamie’s creative passion drives him to sweat all of the right details. His detail-oriented approach goes well beyond the work, influencing his perfect hair, eccentric socks, and impressive hat collection.

Evan Fry is a copywriter and creative director with over 22 years of industry experience, the bulk of that time spent at Crispin Porter + Bogusky (from 2002 to 2015). From 2009 to 2012 he left to spend three years founding and building the innovative agency Victors & Spoils, returning to CP+B after V&S was successfully acquired. Moreover, Evan has focused on building a life favouring good times, cycling and dogs in Boulder, Colorado. Professionally, Evan specializes in listening to and identifying each project’s needs, identifying the opportunities, then creating and writing things that connect with the real human beings that are often referred to as “the target.” This stuff should be fun. Let’s make it that way.
